This week has been unbelievable. Haven jumped from 35 members at the time of opening to 97 members at present. JB and Shawn were able to bring in four people, and I happily gifted $400 cash to them for growing the Haven Jiu Jitsu family.
Omar received his 4th stripe on his white belt and was Haven Jiu Jitsu’s first promotion. Visit our FaceBook page to see Omar’s promotion photo in front of our magnificent Johnny canvas print. Johnny and the Cobra Kai “strike first, strike hard, no mercy” decal helps set the tone at Haven Jiu Jitsu. We have a sense a humor, enjoy having fun, but also expect our members to train hard.
Jeremy crushed his first combat cardio class this week, bringing our members to a new level of fitness. Adam and Chrissy continue to offer exceptional yoga classes. Be on the lookout for information on our newest program, Haven Kickboxing!
What we worked on in class this week (9/6/2021):
Adult Gi
- Tripod Pass into 100% pass
Adult no Gi
- Standing up off knee shield with overhook. Front headlock to crucifix and start of backtake series
- Fundamentals: Side control escape review. Steve escape and knee on belly escapes
Women’s class:
- Hip heist
Kids Class:
- Backbreak fall to technical stand up
- Hip Heist to spider hands
- Just starting closed guard pass
